A Discussion On Liposuction

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 3rd, 2009

Have you seen before and after pictures of people who have undergone a liposuction procedure? Has someone that you know had this surgery? It is important to make sure that you understand everything you can about liposuction, before seriously considering having the operation done. Even if it is just one localized, targeted area that you are interested in having reconstructed, you still need to consider all aspects carefully because all surgeries carry a certain amount of risk.

Many times you may hear, “It’s just liposuction surgery, so what’s the big deal?” The big deal is that this procedure is no different from any other surgery for any reason. There are always risks involved with invasive surgery and this one is no different. Some of the primary risks associated with it may include blood clots, infection, nerve damage and adverse reactions to the anesthesia. You must be sure that you fully understand pre-op liposuction, the procedure itself as well as post-op instructions. Failure to do so can result in complications or even death, so stay informed.

To be a good candidate for liposuction you must have realistic expectations for the outcome of the surgery. It is rare for liposuction results to be perfect and if you understand that from the beginning, then you are far more likely to be satisfied with the results. The more you know about liposuction, the better off you will be. So do a little research before going to see a doctor, as it may be a good idea to have a general idea of the process and to ask questions. You’ll want to also keep in mind that some patients with stretch marks and cellulite do not always get the best results. Some surgeons will not perform the procedure if the patient is over 40 years of age, and if they do, they will make it quite clear that skin contraction is less likely and loose skin may be the result.

Of course, if you are not very healthy when considering this surgery, then you may not be an ideal candidate, as there may be more risks involved with someone in poor health. Certain prescriptions that you may be on can make a liposuction procedure unsafe. So be sure you tell your doctor exactly what you are taking or have taken and then you will be able to discuss alternatives, if any are available.

When talking about liposuction surgeries, keep in mind that just as there are specific areas, treatments and procedures, the recovery time after surgery may vary according to what procedure you have done. However, there are a few things that may be common with all of them such as bruising, tenderness and protracted swelling.

Do you suffer from unsightly bulges of cellulite and hate the way it makes you feel? Every time you enter a retail store dressing room you cringe when you see your hips or thighs. You do not have to suffer any longer or let it affect your body image. Liposuction, while effective, may not be the answer you need. There are alternatives in the form of specific target exercises and now there is the option of different creams you can use to help eliminate the need for cosmetic surgery. Some Tips for Coping With Depression

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 3rd, 2009

It’s true that Coping with Depression is very difficult.  There are many different forms of depression and it affects each patient differently.  In addition to this, depression often affects those around the patient as well - children and spouses may be neglected, work habits become shoddy, and the patient’s friends and family are often ignored.  This isn’t because the depressed person no longer cares about themselves or those around them, but this is part of coping with depression.  The disease takes away the person’s motivation and interest level in virtually everything, even their own family and career.  Those that are concerned with the patient’s well being and the well being of those around them would do well to consider some tips for treating and coping with depression.

The first thing to remember is that depression is a disease.  It is not a weakness of character or something that a person can just snap out of.  It’s also not as simple as a case of the blues or being pessimistic.  When Living With Depression a person needs to remember that frustration at the condition, as well as anger and guilt, are part of the disease and part of dealing with how a person is affected by it.  Adding to that frustration, anger and guilt by acting as if the person is bringing it on themselves or by reminding them of how other people are suffering is not going to help when coping with depression.

However a person should not assume that because they are coping with depression that this means they are off the hook when it comes to their relationships and responsibilities.  Staying in bed, isolating oneself, ignoring those around you is only going to make the situation worse.  While being involved with friends, family, and work is not a fix or cure for the disease it does seem to help those coping with depression.  The more active one is and the more connections he or she continues, the better they feel overall and this may alleviate some of the symptoms of depression.

Physical activity is one of the least favorite things of those coping with depression but it’s also one of the most important.  Exercise helps to increase blood and oxygen circulation and helps the body to be healthy overall, including the brain itself.  Most who are coping with depression have a hard time even getting out of bed much less do they feel like being physically active, but while exercise is no cure for depression it does help one to cope with it effectively.  Exercise also helps a person to feel good about themselves and this too alleviates the symptoms of depression.

Its really difficult for everyone involved to deal with depression but with a little bit of work, it can be done.  When it is faced as a disease, and when there is adequate support and encouragement, a person can deal effectively with the situation.  It may be difficult and it may be a lifetime struggle, but it can be done.

Plastic Surgery - Are You Contemplating This Procedure?

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 3rd, 2009

If asked what the difference is between cosmetic and plastic surgery, then what would you say? If you need a little help with that one, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) tells us that plastic, or reconstructive surgery, is used to repair an abnormality that may have been caused by birth defects, injuries or trauma, as well as tumors resulting in breast and skin cancer. Cosmetic or aesthetic surgery would normally be done to improve appearance or boost your self-esteem.

You may be surprised to learn that many men are now opting for this type of elective surgery. One of the more popular procedures for men is neck liposuction, which removes areas of fat around the neck and sculpts the area for an improved look. More often than not, this is combined with a face lift or other type of facial surgery, such as chin liposuction. When asked why they want the surgery in the first place, many state it is for work related reasons and view it as an investment in themselves.

Ultrasonic liposuction is the number one cosmetic/plastic surgical procedure being performed. The method behind the ultrasonic procedure is that the fat is “shaken or loosened” and this enables it to be sucked out of the body more efficiently.

Is our society fixated on youth and beauty? Does our culture almost demand that we do everything possible to improve upon our appearance? While studies indicate that everyone has their own ideas and self-image, if you are happy with yourself, then you will probably project that feeling through every part of your life. While, those who are not satisfied with how they look tend to be more introverted and self-conscious. So, is plastic surgery right for you? Or do you feel there may be other alternatives?

With any specialized or general surgery you will need time to recover after surgery, and the time varies from person to person as well as according to the procedure. You will also need to allow time for both physical and emotional issues. Many physicians say that the emotional recovery is usually something the patient has not counted on and as such, they try to make sure to discuss this issue before all surgeries.

Even way back in 310 BC, beauty was seen as a stepping stone to a better life. Aristotle said “Beauty is a greater recommendation than any letter of introduction.” Is that true? Possibly. But is it reason enough to consider plastic surgery? That may depend on the individual and how they think the outcome will improve their life. As well, there are many variables that need to be considered, such as age and the persons overall health. They are not sculptors working with clay; they are surgeons working with skin. If they feel a patient understands this, then they may just be a good candidate.

Clinical Depression: What is it

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 3rd, 2009

Its very normal for everyon to have bad days and feel depressed on occassion.  A friend or family member passing in death, a job loss or financial setback, or a prolonged illness can make even the strongest and most resilient person to feel upset and sad.  However, what is meant by the term clinical depression?  How is this different from just feeling sad and blue?  And when does clinical depression become a problem so that it’s time to see a doctor?  There are a few things to consider about this subject.

The term Clinical Depression actually refers to an emotional disorder that is not caused by external elements such as a job loss or death in the family, but by a defect in the brain’s ability to regulate certain chemicals in the brain. Its sadness that comes from these chemicals not releasing in time or in the right amounts.  This means he or she is upset or gloomy even when they are at good events or are doing things that normally should make them happy.  It’s important to understand that clinical depression is caused by this physical defect or deformity because some people think that all they need to do is take a vacation or change some other circumstances in their life and their depression will go away.  Unfortunately this is a very simplistic approach to the problem.

Those with clinical depression usually have very little self-esteem as they are no longer concerned with or care about virtually anything, including themselves personally.  They may neglect their responsibilities around the house, at their job, and even when it comes to their own family and may even neglect their own hygiene and personal appearance.  All of this comes from the overwhelming feelings of malaise or disinterest that are typical with clinical depression.  A person suffering from this condition just does not have much of an interest in anything and seems to be constantly thinking “what’s the point?”  This feeling often persists at all times and for years; it doesn’t let up even when faced with things they should have enjoyment in such as hobbies, friends, and even sexual activity.

Clinical Depression is often different from general sadness in that it is a very deep feeling of sadness, not just a pessimistic attitude or “blue” feeling.  It can even lead to suicidal thoughts and tendencies.  The depths of one’s feelings have a lot to do with whether or not you actually have a condition or are just going through a bad patch.

If anyone suspects that they have clinical depression, especially if they have noticed that they are neglecting their responsibilities, their family, and their own care, it’s time to see a doctor especially if this feeling has persisted for longer than a few weeks.  There are many treatment options today for those who suffer from this condition from medication to group therapy and self-help methods.  Many of these treatment methods are also covered by prescription plans as well.

Some Simple Steps to Relieve Back Pain

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 3rd, 2009

If you’ve been suffering from back pain for some time now, you may wonder if there is really anything that one can do to actually Back Pain Reduction once and for all.  Considering how most people have pain that is not just inconvenient but that is often downright debilitating, it’s an understandable concern.  While some cases need the help of a medical professional it’s also true that you can do some simple things on your own to actually relieve back pain, if not completely, at least enough to make these steps worthwhile.

Alot of pack bain can be helped by this free advice: Pay attention to your posture Back Pain Reduction .  Most people today have very poor posture and this contributes to back pain by keeping the muscles cramped and tense.  It also makes other muscles work harder to support the upper body, and when these muscles do this extra work this results in pain and discomfort.  While posture is often not on anyone’s mind you can purchase what is called a posture brace, a small article of clothing that looks like a compact t-shirt and that you wear under your clothes.  This piece is made of stiff fabric that has been sewn in a crisscross pattern and which helps to support the back and keep it upright, which in turn can help to relieve back pain.  One quick trick that some advise to keep you in a good position is to get into your car and sit up straight, although relaxed, and then adjust your car’s seat and mirrors to this position.  If you’re driving and notice you can’t see the mirrors, don’t adjust them but learn to sit up straight to see out of them.  By having proper posture at least when driving you can relieve back pain at least somewhat.

Relieving back pain becomes pretty easy if you just take a few minutes for some simple stretches.  Since most people sit in front of a computer all day their backs are often cramped and sore at the end of the day.Loosening up your muscles with some easy to do stretching exercises helps increase blood flow to your muscles.  This will relieve back pain for most.  You don’t want to overextend your back when stretching but just sitting on the floor with your legs should width apart and slowly stretching in front of you can help tremendously.  Don’t rock yourself or use any type of jerky movement as this could just stress the back even more, but a slow and easy stretch will get tension off those muscles and then relieve back pain.

Be sure your mattress is firm but not rock hard.  If it sags at all, put some foam or pillows between the mattress and box spring for added support; this will relieve back pain caused by improper support when you sleep.  And if you have a chronic problem that is beginning to interfere with the quality of your life, it’s time to seek medical support for your back problems.

Understanding Smitfraud

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 2nd, 2009

Smitfraud as you most likely already know is a virus. What you most likely do not know is what this thing does.  There are many different variations of this virus but most of them do two things.  The first is change your desktop background around and make it so you can not change it back.  The second highjacks your home page and constantly re-directs you to other sites.  For full removal instructions head over to this dedicated Smitfraud Removal site.

While many current anti-virus and anti-spyware programs detect Smitfraud most can not fully remove this strain.  It ha traces in the registry and several other hard to edit places.  If you miss one trace chances are you will get infected again.  That is why this is so hard to remove.

Many repair site specialize in removing Viruses.  The cost will vary with who you choose but if you have your computer repaired online it will cut that cost in half.  Places like this Computer Repair shop do a great job and for much less then you think. They remote into your computer using screen sharing software and you can watch them work.  It’s just like having a personal tech onsite but without the high cost. This place should be your first stop.

Smitfraud can be fully remove using several free programs on the internet. It will take you many hours if not days to run all these free programs and even then you may not be fully Smitfraud free?  The other downside in using free software is it won’t protect your computer from getting infected again.  Free clients do not offer upfront protection.  It’s only after you have been infected that they start to kicking and by that time it is often too late.  Don’t be cheap and fall prey to another virus.  Consider paying the 40 or so dollars a year and protect your computer so you do not have to deal with this issue again.

Bronze Casting Information and the process of Bronze Casting

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 2nd, 2009

Metal Casting

Bronze has been the most sought-after metal for cast metal sculptures in the bygone years. Bronze alloys have a desirable and unusual property to expand slightly prior to their setting. This helps a great deal in filling every corner of the mold. Their ductility and strength causes them to be molded into any form. However, bronze has a basic disadvantage of not being durable. Hence, there are hardly any traces of ancient bronze statues found. Bronze Casting generally takes place by a process called lost-wax casting. Though, centrifugal and sand castings are also employed, around 90% of bronze casting takes place through lost-wax casting.

Lost-wax method: Lost-wax Casting , in the industry, is better known as investment casting. It is costlier than die and sand Metal Casting , but outshines them in terms of accuracy. It is easily possible to make complicated structures through ‘lost-wax casting’. The process can be described as follows:

Sculpting: First, the original artwork is created by the artist from clay, wax, or some other material. Mostly, clay (oil-based) and wax are used due to their property of retention of softness.

Mold making: Majority of molds consist of 2 pieces, along with a shim placed between 2 halves at the time of construction in order to put back the mold accurately. Keys are kept in the shim. Plaster is generally what makes up small scuplture molds. Fiberglass can also be used. To have the minute details preserved on the surface of original artwork, there exists a mold inside. It is made up of vinyl, silicone, or latex supported by plaster part of mold. Generally, the destruction of original artwork takes place during making. This is due to the solid nature of the originals. The other reason is the rigidity of the originals at the time of removal of plaster mold. That’s why; the original is cut off into thin, long pieces and separately molded. At times, a number of molds are required for recreating the original structure.

Wax: After the completion of latex-and-plaster mold, the pouring of molten wax takes place. Then, swishing is carried out till a uniform coating is obtained. The thickness of the coating is 1/8 inches. It is the inner surface of the mold that gets covered by it. This process is repeatedly executed till the preferred thickness is attained.

Wax removal: Artwork’s ‘hallow wax copy’ is detached from mold. This mold may be reused by the artist for making more copies of wax, but its use gets restricted due to frequent ‘wear & tear’. Around 25 copies can be made for tiny bronze artworks.

Chasing: The chasing of each copy starts. Rubbing of the marks is done by a hot metal tool. The marks showing ‘flashing’ or ‘parting line’ are rubbed out.

Spruing: The spruing of copy generates paths to flow (for molten bronze) and causes air to move out.

Slurry: The dipping of sprued copy into a liquid silica slurry, and then into sand-like ‘stucco’ takes place. You will really want to continue this process over and over again until you get a thickness of your coating of about 1/2 inch.

After these steps, the out-and-out processes like burnout, testing, pouring, releasing, metal chasing, and patinating are carried out.

How Crucial Is Cosmetic Surgery ?

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 2nd, 2009

Many people say that you should be happy with what you have when it comes to your body, that cosmetic surgery is something that only vain or self-centered individuals would ever consider having performed. And yet others say that due to the advancements that have been made there is no reason to be unhappy with how you look. What about you? Is it something that you would have done, even at the risk rude and insensitive comments from others?

This has been looked at and talked about for so long, along with being the subject of many talk shows and books, that it is difficult not to have an opinion. One person may say that if it is reconstructive surgery that is being performed, then it is ok. While a counterpart may believe that having that type of surgery for any reason, even if you are unhappy with your looks, is not ok. Is a surgery, especially an elective surgery, performed after a necessary operation considered frivolous? In other words, if you underwent surgery for something like a Mastectomy, would it be wrong to undergo another surgery to correct the appearance of your breasts? And what about surgeries to rid the body of excess fat, such as a liposuction procedure? A weight loss surgery such as an this may be considered totally cosmetic, but for those who are morbidly obese, this type of operation may be a life saver.

If you have breast surgery after a Mastectomy is that still considered a frivolous form of cosmetic surgery? Since the original problem has been removed you shouldn’t worry about what the results look like, right? So, do they believe you should just be happy with what you have left after the original surgery and not waste money on any further surgery or do they perhaps consider that one reconstructive?

Surgeries of this type are, of course, a personal choice. Perhaps it does seem strange to some that you would choose to have surgery for something that was not absolutely necessary. Maybe they think that having elective surgery is completely wrong, but wrong for whom? Is it wrong to want to look normal or even better than average? Should you have to walk around for the rest of your life and have a constant reminder of what you went through every time you look in the mirror?

What comes to your mind when you hear the phrase cosmetic surgery? Are you like many people and believe that having a surgery to improve your appearance is wrong and unnecessary? Would you try to talk someone out of having this type of surgery or do you believe that it is a personal choice and would say nothing?

Liposuction can be the answer for many people that are suffering from excess weight that will not come off with diet and exercise. No matter how much you try to lose those pockets of cellulite through diet and exercise they just seem to never disappear. Before you go under the knife by a cosmetic surgeon you can check out other methods to get rid of that cellulite or at least reduce how it looks. You can be the shape you want without the surgery. The Reasons why Depression Happens

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on January 2nd, 2009

It’s true that physical problems including the way the brain regulates “feel good” chemicals is one of the leading Depression .  People whose brains are just not releasing certain chemicals or whose brains are not releasing enough of these chemicals are going to suffer from clinical depression.  These chemicals are necessary for a happy mood and when the body doesn’t get them, a person will feel sadness no matter what.  However, there are other causes of depression that some people may not understand or expect.  Let’s cover some of them here.

Chemical imbalances are the major causes of depression but depression can be brought on by outside factors as well.  For example, some people suffer from what is called seasonal affective disorder, or SAD.  This is when they have depression during the winter months or when there is much less sunlight outside.A lot of people feel better when its sunny outside without a cloud but its just the opposite for people with SAD.Its a lot of darkness and a extreme lack of fresh air that really seem to cause depression in their case.  Many of these patients are advised to replace their standard light bulbs with those that mimic outside lights and to be outside as much as possible, even if it’s dark and dreary.Have you every heard the term, Breath of Fresh Air; well sometimes that is all it takes to help with moods.

It’s also thought that one can learn Depression Symptoms and negative thinking which in turn will lead to clinical depression.  It’s as if a person is teaching themselves to be depressed and the body will eventually learn to be that way automatically.  You might compare it to someone that purposely walks with a limp - they will eventually have a real one!  These causes of depression might be pessimistic thinking, a lack of self-esteem, trauma survived such as child abuse, crime, or natural disaster, or severe problems such as job loss, financial setback, poor health, or divorce.  A person thinks about these things in a negative and depressive way and soon those thoughts become automatic.  Note that it takes extremely negative thoughts to be considered causes of depression; just being in a bad mood or being frustrated with one’s problems are not enough to actually bring on depression.

There are probably numerous other causes of depression.  Scientists and doctors are learning new things about this condition every single day.  As other examples, extreme anxiety can lead a person to depression as the body just shuts down to that heightened state of awareness.  Teenagers who have been victims of bullying are often prone to depression.  Those who have family members with depression have an increased chance of being diagnosed with it themselves.  But with all the causes of depression, doctors are also working hard to find more effective treatment options as well, so don’t hesitate to consult with his or her if you think you have clinical depression.
