Has Michael Jackson Had Further Surgery on His Chin for the UK Tour

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 16th April 2009

Michael Jackson is undoubtedly the king of pop, his career has spread over decades and he has millions of fans worldwide. MJ's music is still played throughout the world, albums such as Thriller and Bad are the most successful ever to be made.

But for his die hard fans, there was a bit of bad news as he recently announced that he would be performing his last concerts on British Soil. After hardcore fans waited in the cold for hours, Michael Jackson approached to the stage to confirm that his summer gig would be the last ever on UK soil.

He then insisted that he would only be performing songs that hes fans want to hear. What took me by shock was the fact that I was expecting to see a frail old Michael Jackson, but instead emerged a healthy figure with lots of spark and energy. So my question is, did Michael Jackson have more Cosmetic Surgery for his upcoming press conference?

If we take a look at this image we will notice two sure signs of his surgery, the first being that the lower part of his face looked very sharp and sleek, like he just had his chin done. The second  was that his face did not seem to be as pale as the paparazzi take shots of him, this again could be due down to Cosmetic Surgery or a huge ton of make up.

But what ever he has been accused of, I do not think that this should cause a negative effect on his comeback, fans including myself will have a great time in his gig and should enjoy the fact that this could probably be the final time they see him perform.

Sexual Intercourse And Bacterial Vaginosis

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 16th April 2009

People who tell you bacterial vaginitis is a sexually transmitted disease are missinformed. But bacterial vaginosis can be effected or aggravated by sexually partners. read below for more information.

If you are a sexually active women than you have a chance of catching bacterial vaginosis. The more sexual partners you have the greater the risk of contraction bacterial vaginosis. If you have more sexual partners there is ofcourse more likelyhood of you spreading bad bacteria. A women who is not sexually active is less likely to attract bad bacteria known as Gardnerella.

OK what is bacterial vaginosis. BV is not an infection. What actually causes the inflammation of the vagina is the imbalance of bacteria with bad bacteria over taking the good bacteria. bacteria is alway present within the vagina keeping it healthy. The good bacteria known as Lactobacillus lives happily inside the vagina fitting of any bad or unwanted bacteria. If bad bacteria is introduced in any way the balnce is upset thats when bacterial vaginosis occurs.

So if you find yourself with bacterial vaginosis the advice is to abstain from sex until the inflammation has gone and all symptoms have cleared. Try to eat a well balanced diet and avoid too much saturated fat, processed and refined foods. Try not to drink too much alcohol or coffee as these will upset the pH balance within the body.

What other options do you have to eliminate bacterial vaginosis? when you stop taking the antibiotics bacterial vaginosis can return. So the best way to stop recurrent bacterial vaginosis is to use a supplement of Acidophilus which are taken in tablet form and help build the supply of lactobacillus (good bacteria). Eating yogurt with live cultures will also help. Activia is a good well known brand. Make sure you wash daily and get in to a good routine washing away from the anus. Fresh air around the vagina enables it to breath, which is a good thing.

One way to treat bacterial vaginosis is with antibiotics, these have good and bad points. Get your body to respond to totally natural products building a healthy bacterial balance. This can be done with probiotic drinks and natural yogurt amongst many other things. After suffering with recurrent bacterial vaginitis (BV) for over 3 years I eventually found a totally natural cure that did not involve any antibiotics or creams. If you have bacterial vaginitis for the first time or have had recurrent bacterial vaginitis for some time this is something you really should consider looking at Bacterial Vaginosis Help

Avoid the the Misery of the Common Cold

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 15th April 2009

If you want to avoid the misery of a cold, read on.

On his web site, one of my favorite health writers (J F McCaffrey MD), recently wrote about yet another study confirming the importance of vitamin D for our well being.

The study Dr. McCaffrey reports on reviewed data collected as part of a national health survey of nearly 20,000 participants.  Blood samples were collected as part of the survey so the researches could measure the vitamin D levels.  The researchers then compared that information with which people experienced upper respiratory infections or colds during the study period.

The researchers found that people with low levels of vitamin D were much more likely to develop respiratory infections.  The likelihood was even higher in those who had chronic problems such as asthma.

The authors of the study are quick to say that their study doesn’t test whether or not taking vitamin D cuts your risk of getting a cold.  That’s true, it doesn’t.  Two things happening one after the other doesn’t prove the first caused the second.  In this case maybe the people who don’t get colds are already healthy so they’re outside more and therefore have higher vitamin D levels than people already too sick to be out and about.

That may be true, but they didn’t identify any such differences in the survey.  It’s also true that a lot of other studies show the importance of vitamin D in many different aspects of health.   Decreased levels of vitamin D are associated with increased risks of a wide range of health problems, including cancer and heart disease.

So while strictly speaking it’s true that “further study is needed” to prove absolutely that supplementing withvitamin D protects you from respiratory infections, I’m not waiting.  It will be a long time, maybe decades before those studies are done, if they ever get done.  Vitamin D is safe and everyone should make sure they’re getting adequate amounts.

The easiest (and most pleasant) way of doing that is getting a healthy amount of sun exposure.  But not everyone can get out in the sun or enjoys it.  Which is why I take about 2,000 units of vitamin D a day.

Vitamin D can do much more for you besides strengthening your immune system.  Find out about Vitamin D and Heart Attacks at that link.

And again, to get the information you need to be your healthiest, I highly recommend checking out:

You can request a great free report while you’re there on the Surprising Power of the Heart while you’re there.  It has some pretty amazing information in it you can use right now.

How To Recognize Acute Stress Syndrome

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 15th April 2009

All stress is not the same. Some is good. Some is bad. But stress is always with us in one form or another. There’s no escaping it.

Fight-or-flight response, also known as acute stress, is an anxiety disorder. When we experience either a real or perceived threat to us, it kicks in. The perceived threat can be a physical one, such as an impending plane crash while trapped in a passenger seat. Or an African lion, 100 yards away,  bearing down on us in the middle of the jungle. Or the threat can be emotional as a mother might feel as she’s waiting for the hospital to call regarding the fate of her husband or child that is lying on a hospital operating table.

The theory of acute stress response has been around since the 1920’s. When this response occurs, the body goes through a host of changes. The blood vessels narrow causing blood to drain away from the skin, hence the expression “he was white as a ghost” to describe someone who has just experienced a frightening event. The drained blood, and oxygen, flows into the muscles, lungs, and large muscles - strengthening them all. The heart rate increases enabling blood to be pumped to the various body organs faster. And the pupils of the eye becomes dilated allowing for sharper vision.

Besides the symptoms referred to above, the adrenal glands release the “stress hormone” cortisol which flows through the body. Cortisol has an instantaneous and striking effect on the body. Reflexes are enhanced, immunity is augmented, sensitivity to pain is diminished, and the body is suddenly more energetic and ready to run or fight.

According to traumatic stress treatment centres treatments, prime candidates for acute stress are soldiers returning from war. Many of the troops coming home from Iraq have experienced high levels of acute stress. Many people in the medical field, such as doctors and nurses, experience this as well.

Acute stress disorder is something a bit more serious. It is something that develops after the initial traumatic event that may have caused acute stress in the person. It’s triggered by the person merely remembering the event. Only a licensed therapist or psychologist can diagnose acute stress disorder, but some symptoms are:

1) Trouble focusing - the person may have difficulty concentrating or maintaining a train of thought and may appear as though he’s in a stupor or fog.

2) Disengagement and a diminishing of emotional responsiveness - the person may seem to be aloof emotionally, almost as if they’ve separated themselves from their feelings in order to avoid further pain.

3) Recurring Short term memory loss - the individual may enter a room to retrieve something and suddenly can’t recall what it was she needed. Or, she may start to ask you an important question, but can’t remember what she wanted to ask.

In order for symptoms to be classified as acute stress disorder, they must take place within 1 month subsequent to the initial traumatic event. This disorder is very closely related to post traumatic stress disorder or PTSD. PTSD is basically a longer lasting form of acute stress disorder.

Generally stress is considered bad for us. And usually it is. But acute stress or short term stress is a centuries old survival mechanism that helps us to cope with wrenching events in our lives.

How to Build a Bigger Chest

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 15th April 2009

Are you looking for the best ways to build a bigger chest but unsure how to really go about it?
Do you want to build a huge chest or perhaps you want a more defined muscular look?

These are some of the questions you will need to answer before you start looking at chest workouts, the type of exercise and the way in which you perform them can drastically effect your results.

You can think of the chest in 4 main areas, upper, lower, inner and outer chest to help decide which exercises to use for each.
Once you are more familiar with this you will want to get into more detail such as specfic muscle groups, but these areas will do for now.

For the upper chest you can include exercises such as inclined dumbbell flies and the overhead dumbbell press, standard bench presses are also good for this area. Similar exercise is used for the lower area but may include declined presses and flies. Dumbell flies are a great exercise and work the inner and outer areas, dumbbell crossovers are good for the inner chest.

There are many other exercises that should be included in your chest workouts but the bench press and dumbbell flies are two of the most important to start with, but you will want to include other exercises and variations.

During your exercises you should move steadily and try to reduce any jerking and swinging movement, this applies to the postive and negative moves such as both up and down during a bench press. keeping the pressure on during the negative phase will help improve the effectiveness of your routine.

You will want to think about the number of days to workout in each week and number of sets and reps to be done.
With the right diet and nutrition, three workouts each week leaving a minimum of one day in between each should give some reasonable gains.

As this is really just a simple starting point for chest workouts you should look for a professional workout system to get the best gains.

To make sure you get correctly proportioned results many will be based on a full body workout, also having good diet & nutrition information.

Natural Methods for Quitting Smoking

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 15th April 2009

All the different ways to quit smoking can be effective as long as the smoker is motivated and determined enough to kick the habit.  For some people a combination of prescription drugs and counseling works really well.  For others they may find the best way to quit smoking is to use nicotine replacement therapy to slowly ease off the cigarettes and minimize the effects of the withdrawal symptoms.  Some people prefer natural methods. If you are one of those, here are some techniques that you could try.

Cold Turkey

Quitting smoking cold turkey is one of the most popular natural ways to quit smoking but it isn’t something that just anybody can do. It requires a great deal of tenacity and mental toughness. It involves making the decision to quit and doing so without using any physical or psychological aids. A lot of people who attempt to quit smoking cold turkey will find that it helps to keep themselves busy to distract them from smoking. For example, chewing a tooth pick instead of putting a cigarette in your mouth, or distracting yourself with something to read or playing a video game. If you decide upon the cold turkey method to quit smoking then it is also helpful to consider a detoxifying cleanse and to drink plenty of water. This often helps cold turkey quitters to get through the first few days.

Try Hypnosis

Often people who are looking for natural ways to quit smoking try to quit smoking with hypnosis. Unlike nicotine replacement therapy and pharmaceuticals the hypnosis technique addresses the psychological cause of the cravings. With hypnosis the hypnotherapist implants a message into the subconscious mind. This message tells the smoker that cigarettes are bad and they must keep away from them. Hypnosis can be one of the better natural ways to quit smoking for the right candidate, but it doesn’t work for everybody. Some individuals cannot be influenced by hypnosis because they are not suggestible enough.

Herbal Solution

The antidepressant herb St. John’s Wort has been shown by clinical research be to an effective natural treatment for quitting smoking.  This is because quitting smoking can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety.  These feelings are due to a decrease in the feel good dopamine’s being created by the brain.  St. John’s Wort help’s increase the dopamine levels in the brain and this helps to stop the anxiety or depression.  As a result the urge to smoke is greatly reduced.

There are other natural ways to quit smoking such as self hypnosis and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). Click here for more information about natural ways to quit smoking.

Eye Exams Are Important For Good Eye Health

Posted by GeneralisimoRCB on 15th April 2009

eye health issues

Everyone wants to have eyes that are in great shape, but sometimes no matter what you do to stay healthy you still get sick. Glaucoma is a group of eye diseases that attack the optic nerve bundle, which is located at the back of the eyes. Depending on the person, glaucoma can be caused by a few different things. However, the end result is not good news for the health of your eyes.

Anyone who is serious about eye health issues and about keeping their eyes healthy will make sure that they get regular eye exams. As we get older, parts of our body breakdown and the eyes are especially vulnerable. A glaucoma test is done once a year and is basically a puff of air blown into each eye. While this is not the most comfortable test, it is a very important test because glaucoma works slowly and can sometimes do a lot of damage before it is detected. If detected early, then there is a better chance of successful treatment. Once the damage has occurred, it is irreversible and that is why it is important to take your doctor visits seriously. This is also why it is important to have regular screenings for glaucoma and it usually starts with the peripheral vision. Without regular screenings for glaucoma it is possible for a large part of the nerves to be destroyed before anyone realizes what has happened.

Increased pressure and/or a damaged blood supply to the bundle of optic nerves is how glaucoma causes its damage. The way glaucoma attacks the eyes and indeed how quickly it progresses will vary per person. The health of our eyes, as well as being healthy in general, declines as we get older; however, glaucoma can strike at any age. People with a history of this eye disease in their family seem to be at a higher risk of contracting the disease. So anyone who has had a mother, father, grandparents or anyone else in their family history diagnosed with glaucoma should be especially serious about having any problems checked out. The damage that is done by glaucoma cannot be reversed and all doctors can do is salvage what is left of optical system. However, the good news seems to be a that if it is caught early, then the disease can be slowed down or even stopped for some people.

Problems with your eyes can happen at any age; therefore, it is important that you take the health of your eyes just as seriously as you take other health issues. Making sure that you let your doctor know if you have any concerns or if something is bothering you with your eyesight is crucial. Early detection of problems is always in your best interest.
